A break from textbooks....

I was spying......shhh., originally uploaded by MagicalHands.

We have decided to take break from "schooling at home" and are trying child led learning, or unschooling. We spent an hour at the COOP this afternoon researching high fructose corn syrup. They loved that it was nearly impossible to find on the list of ingredients on any given product in this store. Those commercials piss me off- We have been following the election, ack! But as I see it, this is history in the making. We even went to a DFL rally. Charlie has decided it would be VERY cool to read-so we have been putting letters and sounds together. We dance while counting by fives and tens, and Van Gogh is pretty cool, since he cut off his OWN ear!
I love this! Games, baking, and lots or read-alouds. Tomorrow, if weather permits, we will be searching for beach glass and trying to put together some Halloween costumes.

Have a great weekend!
